She is happy, fun loving and full of life.

She is also suffering from a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

She was diagnosed with the condition in June 2007 and has undergone three rounds of chemotherapy since then. She URGENTLY needs a bone marrow/Stem Cell transplant to survive. She has four siblings and while statistically the probability of finding a suitable bone marrow match with a sibling are 1 in 4, none of them turned out to be a match so an unrelated donor is her ONLY chance. The statistical probability of finding an unrelatedmatch is 1 in 20,000 to 1 in 100,000. But it is infinitely better than not finding a match at all. Also,as tissue typing is inherited the chances of finding a match are more likely in someone who's fully or partly of South Asian descent (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri-Lankan & Nepalese) . A simple blood test [2 teaspoons] is all it takes in the first instant to register as a potential donor to s ave a life .
